Fire Retardant Bedspreads

Bedspreads fully compliant to BS 7175 Ignition standard

Fire retardant bedspreads or throw overs should ideally be placed on every single NHS and private hospital bed as well as in nursing homes, care and residential homes or any public sector accommodation unit, in order to protect against accidental or deliberate ignition of the bedding.

Thomas Kneale’s jacquard woven fully fire retardant bedspreads will aid in the protection of all textile constituents of the bed-assembly from ignition and therefore prevent injury or death.

Our fire retardant bedspread is inherently flame-retardant as the fibres are not chemically treated but structurally fire retardant and cannot wash out. Weighing 260GSM it provides warmth, comfort and protection to hospital patients, elderly people and other vulnerable members of society.

BS 7175 Ignition Compliant

It is crucial that to provide patient care the bedspread should comply with BS 7175 Ignition and specified to 0 (smouldering cigarette) and 5 (timber crib 20 g newspaper) meeting public sector specifications.

Thomas Kneale can provide up-to-date Fire safety certificates from independent test houses accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on all its fire retardant products.
