A wide variety of people are supported through furnished accommodation with their bedding and bathroom textiles items, plus curtaining and blinds, rather than them having to purchase the items themselves – they may be on a low income or benefits, they may have additional needs or vulnerabilities, or they may be homeless / requiring emergency accommodation.

One of Thomas Kneale’s largest and most varied sectors, our customers comprise of everything from large city councils through to small, local charities. Budgets, user needs and scale of operations differ across customers, but our product range and stockholding ensure we are able to provide the items and turnaround times that are required.
We essentially are able to offer a ‘one stop shop’ of items that you would require across any home, beyond our core bedroom and bathroom textiles, including cleaning consumables and hardware, and kitchen and dining related needs.
Where a purchasers budgets are limited, we have a product range which allows spend to go further without impacting on the end users comfort.
We utilise recycled content in most of our product range, which is good for environmental purposes, and we utilise materials that are generally cheaper to manufacture. For example, duvets can manufactured from many different materials and TOG ratings.
Our entry level duvets are made using recycled fibres which helps to keep the costs low but still provides the warmth expected from the TOG rating of the duvet, and good levels of comfort.
Where users may be vulnerable, from individuals with mobility issues or those with alcohol or drug dependencies, where the individuals smoke, we have a fire retardant product range across duvets, pillows, bed linens, protectors, blankets, smoking aprons, and window coverings.
To protect the user and the property from the risk of ignition and spread of fire, these items are manufactured and independently tested to British Standards BS7175 Source 5 and BS7175 Source 7, certified to keep the individual safe.
Many of our customers within this sector benefit from a one stop shop operation. We are able to source additional items that end users need – especially cleaning, kitchen and dining items, but also clothing products as well.
Our unrivalled sourcing abilities from our highly experienced team also cover household consumables such as soap, washing up liquid, bleach, and toilet roll.
