Contract Mattresses: Residential Institution Quality

Thomas Kneale manufactures and supplies Contract Mattresses to a wide range of customers from the Prison Service to Nursing & Residential Homes, Schools to Hostels and Holiday Camps and University and College Halls of Residence together with leading private providers of Student Accommodation. We offer a full range of options suitable for the varying demands across this wide spectrum so that each mattress meets the customer’s definition of ‘fit for purpose’ and performance expectation.

Foam and Sprung Mattresses

We make two types of mattresses; foam filled and spring interior. These contract grade mattresses are then customer specified to be Quilted, Non-Quilted or Tufted, Waterproof PVC, Breathable Waterproof, Hypo-allergenic and Anti-bacterial/fungal and stain resistant.

As we supply both the Public and Private Sectors all our Mattresses are fully flame retardant to the required standard and comply to BS 7177 Ignition Source 5 for general contract use.

Foam Mattress

Our mattress are CMHR (combustion modified high resilient) and are produced in different sizes and depths to meet customer requirements. As manufacturers we can produce bespoke and non-standard sizes

Sprung Mattress

For added comfort we typically fit satin pads over the open coil spring system to both top and bottom surfaces and specify reinforced 9 gauge tempered steel rod edges around the top and bottom edges and side supports. This provides extra reinforcement given the frequency of sitting on the mattress edge.
